Financial Aid

Buckley offers financial aid based on demonstrated need. Requests for assistance do not affect admissions decisions or a current student’s place in the school community. All financial information is held in the strictest confidence. 

Buckley uses School and Student Services (SSS), provided by the National Association of Independent Schools, to process financial aid applications and help determine need.  Based on the financial information you submit, SSS will report to us an estimated amount your family can contribute towards tuition.  This helps us make fair and objective financial aid decisions.

To be eligible for consideration for financial aid, you must complete your application by February 12, 2010 and mail additional documents to both SSS and Buckley Country Day School by March 1, 2010.  You may submit the SSS application online or by mail.  The Buckley school code is 1942.

ONLINE SSS APPLICATION

1. Go to http://sss.nais.org/
2. Click on the prompt to begin your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). You only have to complete one PFS even if you have more than one child applying to our school.
3. You will be given a password to allow you to return to your PFS at a later date before submitting it.
4. You will be given instructions about submitting required backup documents by mail:  a copy of your completed and signed 2009 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return (1040) with all schedules and W-2 forms, and a Business and Farm Statement if you own your own business.  All information will be handled with the utmost level of security.  Also, you will be able to track the receipt of documents.
5. Mail the required documents to: SSS by NAIS, Application Processing Center, P.O. Box 449, Randolph, MA 02368-0449. (For overnight mail, use this address: SSS by NAIS, Application Processing Center, 437 Turnpike Street, Canton, MA 02021.)  You must also submit copies of these backup documents directly to the Buckley Admissions Office.

 
BY MAIL SSS APPLICATION

1. If you do not already have a printed Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS), call our admissions office at 516-627-1910 to request that one be sent to you.
2. Complete the PFS and return it to SSS with the following required backup documents:  a copy of your completed and signed 2009 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return (1040) with all schedules and W-2 forms, and a Business and Farm Statement if you own your own business.  All information will be handled with the utmost level of security. 
3. Send all forms and documents in the envelope provided with the PFS. (For overnight mail, use this address: SSS by NAIS, Application Processing Center, 437 Turnpike Street, Canton, MA 02021.)  You must also submit copies of these backup documents directly to the Buckley Admissions Office.
