On September 6th, Buckley celebrated the opening of the Forman-Hagedorn Lower School with a joyful, outdoor ribbon-cutting ceremony that also commemorated Buckley's 90th anniversary. The festivities featured eighth graders dresses in period attire representing each decade from the 1920s, in recognition of the school's founding in 1923, through present day, with one student representing the future. Attendees included students in first through eighth grades, faculty, and staff, administration, parents, alumni, and friends.
The Forman-Hagedorn Lower School is named in recognition of Karli '74 and Jim Hagedorn '71, who have been long-time, extraordinarily generous, Buckley benefactors and friends. Karli Hagedorn, whose maiden name is Forman, comes from a family of Buckley graduates that includes her husband, her children, her father, uncle, and cousins.
