Summer Reading and Writing Requirements

Lower School

Keep track of what you read this summer by writing the author and title for each of the books on your Reading Log. In addition to the book required for each grade listed below, students must read a minimum of four additional books over the summer.

Required Reading
Entering 1st Grade: Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes
Entering 2nd Grade: Johnny Appleseed by Steven Kellogg
Entering 3rd Grade: The Stories Julian Tells by Ann Cameron
Entering 4th Grade: James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

Summer Writing Journal
Write a minimum of 5 personal entries in addition to one entry for each book (5 minimum) you read over the summer. Journaling is a wonderful way to record your memories of summer, tales about camp, great books to remember or adventures on your vacation. Just enjoy writing! 

 
 
 
Upper School

Summer Writing Journal
