Dear 7th and 8th Grade Parents,
After offering trips to Quebec City and Montreal to Buckley students three years in a row, last summer we took a group of 21 seventh and eighth graders to Spain and France. The trip took us to Madrid, Toledo, Paris, Versailles, the D-Day beaches in Normandy, and Mont-Saint-Michel. We had a fantastic time! If you would like more details about last year's trip, please click here
This year, we would like to offer a similar trip to Spain and France to 7th and 8th grade students, including the 7th graders taking Mandarin.
The dates for the proposed trip are June 13th to June 21st and will take our students to:
- Paris (6/14-6/15), with a sight-seeing cruise on the Seine River, a visit to Le Louvre Museum, Montmartre, and The Latin Quarter, and a climb up the Eiffel Tower;
- Versailles (6/16) for a visit to the Sun King’s Palace;
- Carcassone (6/17-6/18) (by train), a medieval city in southern France. Students will go on a cruise on the Canal du Midi towards the Mediterranean going through locks along the way and will visit several medieval fortresses;
- Barcelona (6/19-6/20) (by coach), with guided tours of all the iconic sites including Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.
We will fly back to New York from Barcelona on June 21.
As in the past, our trips will be organized by Jumpstreet since we have been very satisfied with their service.
The cost for the trip will be between $4,000 and $4,500, which includes airfare, all meals, hotels, ground transportation, visits, etc.
I would first like to gauge potential interest in this year’s trip. Could you please let me know via email (by October 1) whether you might be interested in having your child participate in this trip. There is no commitment on your part at this point.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
