Buckley celebrated the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at this Friday's assembly—reflecting on “The Power of Words and Language.”
The Class of 2020, under the direction of Mrs. Newman and Mr. Klaus, read from the book Martin’s Big Words
, as images from the book were displayed on the screen. At the end of the reading, four candles were lit to remember those who were no longer with us.
Following the eighth graders, the third graders, under the direction of Dr. Glennon, sang “I Have a Dream” and “Martin Luther King.”
Finally, Buckley's newly-formed Jazz ensemble perfomed “We Shall Overcome” with a second grade soloist. It was a rousing performance that will long be remembered. CLICK HERE
