Buckley's 2022 National Geographic Bee

On Friday, January 7, 2022 the snow did not stop Buckley students in grades 4-8 from competing in Buckley's National Geographic Bee. Students enjoyed a snow day, and the Buckley community gathered online via YouTube and Zoom to watch and participate in the GeoBee.  Hagedorn Library and Learning Center Director, Ms. Patricia Russac, organized the GeoBee as she does each year, and 7/8 history teacher, Mr. Michael Klaus, served as our master of ceremonies.

The finalists representing their respective classes and team colors were: Izyaan Burney '22 and Dylan O’Sullivan '22, Joshua Nazaire '23 and Darius Nelson '23, Adam Bogart '24 and Ana Calvo '24, Mark Csakany '25 and Nosa Osayimwese '25, Rui-Xing Li '26 and Sasha Manuel '26.
Izyaan Burney finished in second place, and Dylan O'Sullivan took third place, both earning points for the Red Team.
Blue Team member Adam Bogart became the 2022 Buckley National Geographic Bee champion!

Thanks to Ms. Russac for all her work in organizing the GeoBee again this year, to Mr. Klaus for his skillful emceeing, and to Mr. Persaud and Dr. Juhel for keeping time and scoring during the competition.
Congratulations to Adam and to all the 2022 GeoBee participants!
