Buckley 6th Grader Wins New York Times Vocabulary Video Contest!

The New York Times recently announced the winners of their Ninth Annual 15-Second Vocabulary Video Contest, and Buckley’s very own Camille Winkler ’24 was selected as one of 13 winners!

Over 1,500 students in middle and high school submitted videos that defined a word of their choice. Words were selected by each student from a list of over 2,000 possibilities from the New York Times Learning Network Words of the Day, spanning from Oct. 17, 2009 to Nov. 30, 2021.

Camille’s video on the word “adversarial” can be found here, and the full NYT article with all the winners’ videos here.

Congratulations, Camille, and thank you for helping us expand our vocabulary with your fun and creative video!
