On Monday, June 6th, Buckley's 7th and 8th grade students and their teachers gathered for a special assembly to celebrate the achievements of several of our Upper School students who earned high scores in two national language exams.
Mrs. Elizabeth Solosky presented the Latin Awards to 21 Buckley students; each winner earned high scores in the National Latin Exam.
Cum Laude Award Winners: Charlie Avallone '22, Sarah Espaillat '23, and Jasmine Hembrey '23
Magna Cum Laude Award Winners: Izyaan Burney '22, Michael Crish '22, Shiloh Ffrench '23, Arsh Ghanchi '22, Blake Hatwood '23, and Isabella Ramirez '23
Silver / Maxima Cum Laude Award Winners: Soleil Can '23, Kyle Lee '22, Mason Lee '22, Valentina Lopez '23, Aria Mannering '22, Danielle Parchment '22, and Aaron Spence '23
Gold / Summa Cum Laude Award Winners: RJ Edmonds '22, Anna Christina Glennon '22, Dylan O'Sullivan '22, and Cody Strauss '22
One student earned a perfect score, also winning the Gold / Summa Cum Laude Award: Mircea Manu '22.
Professora Elba Lugo presented the awards for the National Spanish Exam to the students who earned scores that placed them in the 75th percentile or higher for this nationally competitive test.
Each medal is awarded to students who scored in the highest percentiles nationally:
Bronze (Bronce) - 75th to 84th percentiles
Silver (Plata) - 85th to 94th percentiles
Gold (Oro) - 95th percentile and higher
