The Hagedorn Library Learning Center is a beautiful, user-friendly facility that functions as the information center for exploration and knowledge. It is a place where students learn to love literature, and effectively process and use information in all formats. It provides a state-of-the-art multimedia room, enrichment room, additional classrooms, both Upper and Lower School book collections, a storytelling room filled with picture books and early childhood resources, a reference collection, and networked computers, including wireless laptops.
Students from nursery-fourth grade have a scheduled library class once a week. In the middle school, fifth and sixth grades, students meet for one period a week as part of a combined Library and Technology program. Students in seventh and eighth grades are scheduled by their teachers for independent research. In addition to scheduled classes, teachers plan library and computer time throughout the year for specific projects. We are recognized by New York State as an "Electronic Doorway Library" at the Leader Level, providing remote access to resources.
