Buckley Students Honor Veterans Day

On Thursday, November 10, Buckley students recognized Veterans Day as they gathered for lunch. Members of the fourth grade class spoke about the meaning of Veterans Day in their presentation to both Upper and Lower School grades, and the fifth grade performed a rousing rendition of God Bless America, directed by Dr. Elizabeth Glennon and accompanied on the piano by Ms. Soyoung Chun.

Director of Admissions, Mrs. Colleen Fortuna, welcomed our special guest for the day, Sargeant Leroy Manuel, grandfather of Kayla '24 and Sasha '26 Manuel. Sargeant Manuel discussed his military service in the Vietnam War, and answered a few questions from students.

We are so grateful to Sargeant Manuel not only for his service, for taking the time to share a bit of his experience with our students so that they may more fully understand the work our service members do in keeping our country and its citizens safe. Thank you, Sargeant Manuel, and thank you to all our service members in the Buckley community and beyond!
