Buckley Celebrates St. Patrick's Day!

On Friday, March 17, 2023, the Buckley community gathered in the Muran Theater to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!  We heard an Irish blessing from first grader Genevieve Kernan and a poem from seventh grader Richard Byun.

We were treated to a rousing performance by the Petri School of Irish Dancers, whose selection included both tap and soft-shoe dances. Their colorful show costumes dazzled our students and their energy had the entire auditorium clapping along!

Buckley’s fourth graders beautifully performed a medley of Irish tunes conducted by Music Director Dr. Elizabeth Glennon. Finally, seventh grader Liam O'Sullivan introduced our very own bagpiper, Kevin Connolly, who in addition to a masterful performance, took the time to teach us all how the bagpipes achieve their unique sounds.

From an Irish parent in the auditorium moved by the assembly, “Those fourth graders hit every single note!”

Thank you to Mrs. Lyons and Dr. Glennon for preparing such a joyful celebration of Ireland and the Irish diaspora.
