Bulldogs Excel In Tournaments

Buckley Country Day School’s student athletes took to the fields, courts, and courses on Thursday, for LIAAIS tournaments. The day was dubbed, Thunder Thursday, and the Bulldogs certainly did not disappoint. Buckley’s student athletes gave it their all in each and every game and race, combining strong play with exemplary sportsmanship. Congratulations to all!

The Boys 5/6 soccer team—playing here at Buckley—won its tournament, going undefeated along the way. Overall, Coach Boyle received positive contributions and solid play from the entire team, as Buckley won every game by at least four goals.

The Girls 5/6 soccer team travelled to Holy Child for its tournament, and had a great experience with improved play and individual growth. Coach Jenne’s team defeated Portledge twice and tied Green Vale once, en route to a third-place finish.
 
The Co-ed 5/6 and 7/8 cross-country team competed at East Woods, finishing a successful day with a second-place overall finish. Coach Harris was extremely proud of the team’s performance.

The Co-ed 5–8 tennis team finished in first place overall in its tournament, held at Sportime Roslyn. The team, led by Coach Friel and Coach Rappaport, was successful in pulling out several close singles and doubles matches to claim the tournament title.
 
The Girls 7/8 soccer team faced off at East Woods, where it earned a second-place finish in the tournament. Coach Lanzetta’s squad utilized great offensive strategies and improved throughout the afternoon.
 
The Boys 7/8 soccer team travelled to Green Vale, where it finished in third place overall. The Bulldogs fought hard in every game and Coach Neal’s squad truly came together as a team.
