Dear Buckley Parents, Faculty, and Staff,
Along with the health concerns we are experiencing as a result of the spread of coronavirus, the measures we have had to take to contain it and “flatten the curve” are taking an emotional toll on our children and on us. The school psychologist who has served as a consultant for Buckley for many years feels that the full emotional impact of the fear of the virus, the social isolation, and the disruption to routines will be felt in the weeks ahead. To help us better understand the impact of the current situation on children, how we can support them, and at the same time take care of our own anxiety and emotions, I have invited Dr. Melissa Vivino to speak to us via Google Meet on:
Monday, March 30th, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm for lower school families
Tuesday, March 31st, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm for upper school families
In order to make the conversation productive, I am asking that you
- rsvp to Mrs. Miseo by the end of the week;
- send me your questions ahead of time via email.
I will moderate the meeting and also use the Chat function of Google Meet, but it would be easier to send me your questions ahead of time.
Once you rsvp, I will send you a Google Meet link.
I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity. Dr. Melissa Vivino is a remarkable psychologist who also happens to know our community well.
I miss seeing everyone at Buckley and look forward to reconnecting, if only virtually for the time being.
