Buckley to Hold a Very Special Film Screening

On Wednesday night, May 8th, Buckley Country Day School will hold a very special screening of the film, They Played For Their Lives.

Through intimate interviews and live performances, They Played for Their Lives artfully portrays how music saved the lives of young musicians during  the Holocaust. Playing music in the ghettos and concentration camps not only fostered spiritual strength within themselves and others, but often proved a bargaining tool that spared their lives.

We are honored to be joined by the film’s director Nurit Jugend, as well as survivor Frank Grunwald, both of whom will answer questions following the 52-minute film.
