Buckley Celebrates Black History Month With Community Read

Today, all of the students in Lower School and Upper School participated in Buckley’s Black History Month community-wide read, using a format developed by seventh grader Zoe Schoen. The format is called "Book Explorer Buddies," during which older students help younger students select books and inspire them to read, at the same time “allowing a closer bond and understanding between the students,” as Zoe wrote.

In addition, a group of eight graders volunteered to stop by each classroom to add context about Black History Month to the students’ reading and experience.
