On Friday afternoon, Buckley celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month, with an energetic and educational assembly.
Led by Señoras Vasquez, Pizzo, and Rodriguez-McLean—along with assistance from musical director, Dr. Glennon—students, teachers, and parents learned a lot and had a lot of fun. Spanish students actually hosted the assembly, as they led the entire school in the singing of "Pie, Pie, Pie" and dances in the stlyes of Bachata, Merengue, and Salsa. The strings ensemble performed "La Raspa."
All of Buckley's students were encouraged to stand, sing, and dance and a good time was had by all. Along the way, everyone learned the history and significance of each of the songs and dances and why Hispanic Heritage is so important.
